How DigiEdge Workspace is built
One control plane provisions, secures, and operates every workspace — and connects securely back into your existing network. Here is the full picture.
The platform, layer by layer.
-
Control plane
provisions, secures, and operates everything — the outer frame that runs the platform
-
Access & security
gateways, SSO/MFA, connection broker, and policy enforcement
-
Workspace delivery
containerised Windows/Linux desktops and streamed apps, each in its own container
-
Compute, GPU & storage
the container-based infrastructure each workspace runs on, including GPU
-
Monitoring
central visibility into sessions, usage, and workspace health
How it connects to your estate.
- DigiEdge Workspace client
- the user's entry point from any device
- Service Access gateway
- brokered entry to platform services
- Desktop Access gateway
- brokered entry to desktops and apps
- Site-to-Site Connect gateway
- secure link between DigiEdge Cloud and your corporate network
- Connectivity agents
- deployed in your network to reach existing PCs, servers, VMs, and directory (AD/LDAP)
- DigiEdge Cloud
- where the control plane and workspaces run
// how_a_session_flows
How a session flows
- 1 The user opens the DigiEdge Workspace client from any device.
- 2 They authenticate once with SSO and MFA at the access layer.
- 3 The connection broker matches them to the workspace or system they're authorised to reach.
- 4 The session is established through the relevant gateway — never by exposing the workspace or an open port directly.
- 5 The workspace runs in DigiEdge Cloud (or your own environment); only the screen is streamed to the device.
- 6 For access to existing systems, the Site-to-Site Connect gateway and connectivity agents reach back into your corporate network.
- 7 Every session is monitored and audited centrally by the control plane.

Technical FAQ
Where does the workload actually run? +
In the workspace — in DigiEdge Cloud or your own environment. Nothing runs or persists on the user's device; only the display is streamed.
What operating systems are supported? +
Containerised Windows and Linux desktops, plus individual streamed applications.
Is the platform container-based? +
Yes — workspaces run on container-based infrastructure, each in its own isolated container, which is how environments provision quickly, stay consistent, and scale cleanly.
How do users connect? +
Through the DigiEdge Workspace client to a brokered gateway — no exposed endpoints and no open inbound ports to the workspace.
How does it reach our existing systems? +
Through the Site-to-Site Connect gateway and connectivity agents deployed in your network, which broker access to existing PCs, servers, VMs, and directory services.
How does it integrate with our identity? +
SSO and MFA at the access layer, integrating with your identity provider and directory (AD/LDAP). RBAC controls who can reach what.
Where can it be deployed? +
Managed cloud, private cloud, or hybrid — all available today.
Does it support GPU and AI workloads? +
Yes — GPU and AI desktops are live today (see the tier specs below).
Managed desktops and apps, delivered from the cloud
Give each person a ready-to-use desktop. The workspace runs centrally in DigiEdge Cloud or your own environment — only the screen reaches the endpoint, so nothing is installed, stored, or left behind on the device.
-
Managed cloud desktops
full Windows or Linux desktops, provisioned and maintained for each user.
-
Streamed applications
deliver individual apps without a full desktop, to any device.
-
Runs centrally, not on the endpoint
the workload executes server-side; only the display is streamed.
-
Any device
reach the same workspace from a laptop, thin client, tablet, or browser.
-
Ready on sign-in
no local install, no per-device setup.
One secure front door to every workspace and system
Users reach their desktops, applications, and authorised systems through a single access layer — authenticated, brokered, and audited. Connections are matched by a broker and established through a gateway, so nothing is exposed directly and no inbound port is opened to the workspace.
-
Single access layer
one entry point to desktops, apps, and systems, from any device.
-
Connection broker
matches each user to the workspace or system they're authorised to reach.
-
Brokered gateways
sessions run through a gateway; no workspace or endpoint is exposed directly.
-
Controlled remote access
privileged-style, auditable access to sensitive systems.
-
Reaches your existing estate
brokered access back to existing PCs, servers, VMs, and directory services.
Run every workspace from a single control plane
Provision workspaces, manage users and policies, control sessions, and monitor operations — all from one admin console, across every workspace type and deployment.
Workspace provisioning
create and assign workspaces on demand.
User & group management
manage people and groups in one place.
Policy & RBAC
role-based access control and user/group policy.
Session management
view, control, and end active sessions.
Monitoring
central visibility into usage, sessions, and workspace health.
Audit log
a full record of access and activity.
Admin console
one console for the entire platform.
Lifecycle management
provision, update, and retire workspaces centrally.
Fits your identity, not the other way around
DigiEdge Workspace authenticates users with single sign-on and multi-factor authentication at the access layer, integrating with your existing identity provider and directory. Role-based access control decides who can reach which workspace or system — enforced centrally, using the identities you already manage.
SSO
single sign-on through your existing identity provider.
MFA
multi-factor authentication at the access layer.
AD / LDAP
integrates with your existing directory services.
RBAC
role-based access control over every workspace and system.
Compute that scales from an office to an AI desktop
Every workspace runs on container-based infrastructure sized to the job — from standard business desktops to GPU-accelerated and AI workstations.
Container-based infrastructure
each workspace runs in its own isolated container, so environments provision fast, stay consistent, use resources efficiently, and scale cleanly.
Right-sized compute
vCPU and RAM matched to each workload, from standard to high-performance.
GPU & AI
GPU-accelerated and AI desktops for design, engineering, data science, and AI workloads — in production today.
Managed storage
provisioned per workspace, with add-on object storage available.
Security your own team can verify.
Security is built into how the platform works, not added on top. These are the mechanisms your own security team can inspect.
Identity-based access
SSO and MFA with role-based access control (RBAC) decide who reaches what.
Brokered connections
Sessions run through a broker and gateway; no exposed endpoints and no open inbound ports to the workspace.
Full session audit
Session recording and logs give a complete record of activity.
Data stays server-side
The workload runs centrally; nothing persists on the user's device.
Per-workspace isolation
Each workspace is isolated from the others.
Deploy in your perimeter

Deploy on your terms
Run DigiEdge Workspace as a fully managed service, inside your own perimeter, or as a hybrid of both — all available today.
Managed cloud
we run the platform for you in DigiEdge Cloud.
Private cloud
deploy inside your own environment.
Hybrid
combine managed cloud and private deployment to fit your security and infrastructure.
